Department of Energy (DOE) Laboratory Technology Transfer Awareness Day

09-10 March 2021

Request to Attend Closed 16 February 11:59 PM ET

Purpose
SOFWERX, in concert with USSOCOM’s Directorate of Science and Technology (S&T) and the United States Department of Energy (DOE), will conduct an event to connect DOE Laboratories, U.S. Government (USG), and potential collaborators to facilitate licensing and further development of Laboratory technologies to Industry, to accelerate development of End User capabilities. The goal is to improve awareness and information sharing to identify future opportunities for collaboration as well as identify existing capability gaps, specifically related to Cybersecurity.

Methodology
USSOCOM has identified technology approaches and selected DOE Laboratory projects that showcase cybersecurity technologies under development that are available for licensing by Industry partners. These projects will be shared with event participants, along with information on USG interests in Cybersecurity and additional opportunities for technology transfer.

Background
DOE’s National Labs seek to connect National Laboratory-developed technologies to Industry, working with federally-affiliated accelerators, to identify, mature, and otherwise support technologies for deployment in the national security application space. Technologies in Cybersecurity being developed in the National Laboratories and available for licensing to Industry will be highlighted during this event.

Why You Should Participate
This event will allow connections for the following:

National Laboratories  – to achieve goals of transferring technologies for national security and economic impact
Industry Partners  – to employ, scale up, and produce capabilities in support of USG needs
USG Accelerators – to achieve goals of finding and ”fixing” technologies to solve national security problems
End Users – to achieve goals of fielding technologies for mission, Warfighter, and public benefit

Event Timeline
Completed Phase 1 – 12 January 2021 to 15 February 2021 Request to Attend Open: Interested respondents who would like to observe the cybersecurity DOE Lab technology presentations are encouraged to request to attend per the instructions below NLT 15 February. Selected participants will receive an invitation o/a 23 February 2021.

Completed Phase 2 – 09 March 2021 to 10 March 2021 Virtual DOE Laboratory Technology Transfer Awareness Day: During the event, selected DOE Labs will brief their respective technologies. Invited Industry, Other National Labs, and Non-Traditional participants will be afforded the opportunity to observe the DOE Lab presentations, in a virtual setting, along with USSOCOM and other USG Sponsors.

Phase 3 – TBD Follow-On: Interested partners have the opportunity to collaborate with DOE laboratories to further develop their technology for potential later Government review and assessment.
