The $225,000 Tech Sprint:

Hyper Enabled Partner Force

On 04-14 May, SOFWERX, in concert with the USSOCOM Joint Acquisition Task Force (JATF), will host a Hyper Enabled Partner Force Tech Sprint. Up to 15 selected technologies and their submitters will receive a prize award in the amount of $15,000 to combine and/or integrate their most provocative technologies into the Hyper Enabled Operator (HEO) system. If successfully integrated, selected Tech Sprint participants may also be granted access to attend and showcase their technologies during the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC).

What is a Tech Sprint? 
A Tech Sprint is a 1-2 week event to rapidly integrate and assess technologies of interest.

Technology Focus Areas
The technologies of interest are those that will assist in providing new, novel or provocative solutions in the following categories:

  • Linguistical Fluency
  • Cultural Fluency
  • Social Awareness
  • Operational Awareness
  • Other Hyper Enabled Capabilities

Timeline
Phase I – 10 February to 23 March Tech Sprint Submissions Open: If you are an Industry, Academic or Laboratory partner that has a new, novel or provocative capability that addresses one of the technology focus areas mentioned above, please submit your capability for review and potential selection. A <6 minute video and quad chart are required for each submission (details below). Submissions will be reviewed, and favorably evaluated submissions will receive an invitation on or around 10 April 2020 for Phase IV attendance.

Phase III – 10 April to 04 May Matchmaking: Those selected to attend can begin pre-event collaboration and development o/a 10 April or as required based on level of integration/interoperability with HEO systems. To assist with communication, participants will be invited to a Slack channel, or similar.

Phase IV – 04 May to 11 May Tech Sprint: During the Tech Sprint, attendees will collaborate to further develop and integrate their technologies and concepts into a Hyper Enabled Partner Force system-of-systems. Selected participants will be afforded a $15,000 prize award stipend for their participation during the Tech Sprint and their potential attendance at SOFIC.

Phase V – 11 May to 14 May: Participants, their technologies and integrated systems developed during Phase III may be showcased at SOFIC from 11-14 May.

Phase VI – Path Forward: The system, or specific portions thereof, may be considered by USSOCOM, other Government Agencies or Partnered Forces, for further evaluation or development.
