SOFWERX, in collaboration with the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) and the Hillsborough County Public Schools–Foundation for Community Driven Innovation (HCPS–FCDI) STEM Center, participated in a youth aerial drone competition as part of the AMRoC Fab Lab Fly-In event. Middle and high school teams from across the Southeast Region demonstrated teamwork, drone piloting, coding, and communications skills through a series of competitive flight missions and judged challenges. The event brought together student teams to apply STEM concepts in a dynamic competition environment, reinforcing real-world problem solving, collaboration, and technical skill development aligned with the innovation-focused missions of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and SOFWERX.

SOFWERX staff engaged with participating teams during the competition, discussing STEM career pathways, innovation initiatives, and opportunities for students to pursue future technical fields aligned with national defense and emerging technology sectors.

During the event, students demonstrated applied skills in drone piloting, coding, and communication while collaborating in mission-based challenges, reinforcing teamwork, strategic thinking, and hands-on STEM learning through competitive aerial robotics activities.
