SOFWERX, in partnership with Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) and Pinellas County Schools (PCS), continued its support of The Great American Teach-In, an annual event where professionals, including members of the Special Operations Forces (SOF), share their knowledge and experiences with students. This year’s engagement provided students with meaningful insight into SOFWERX’s mission, SOF expertise, and the real-world relevance of STEM concepts. Through hands-on activities and discussions, students explored principles of structural design, material strength, and stability by constructing functional prototypes, gaining a practical understanding of engineering and problem-solving.

SOFWERX staff visited classrooms and directly engaged with students throughout the school, reaching more than 350 learners during the event.
By delivering experiential learning, dynamic curriculum elements, and hands-on engineering activities, SOFWERX connected theoretical STEM knowledge to real-world application, strengthening students’ understanding of engineering concepts.
The experience fostered curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, encouraging students to explore innovation and preparing them with foundational skills valuable for future academic and career success.
